7 Secrets to Embrace Your Natural Beauty in the Workplace

47% of U.S. workers are women; with more women joining the workforce they are more likely to switch to natural beauty because it saves time, boosts confidence, and is healthier for their skin.

 

In a male-dominated workplace, many women still choose to wear makeup. But when beauty is held to a higher degree than actual work ethic, it leaves room for beauty bias.

 

Beauty bias, or lookism, essentially means the better you look, the more likely you will be to get a raise or move up the corporate ladder.

 

While makeup is always an option women use to enhance their look, a lot more women are making the conscious decision to overcome lookism and embrace their natural beauty.

1. Smile and be kind to others

This may seem obvious, but smiling is one of the best ways to show off your beauty. Smiling not only boosts your own confidence and self-esteem but makes you more approachable and likable by your coworkers.

 

People who smile often are automatically perceived as beautiful because they appear to have a kind soul. One study shows that people who are kind automatically are more beautiful in the eyes of their peers.
